Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old was assaulted and suffered a number of stab wounds in Riverside Park on Friday evening (July 26).
Officers say the teenager was approached between 9.30pm and 10pm by a group of people.
An altercation occurred and the victim suffered three stab wounds to his leg. He was taken to hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Police haven't said where in the park it took place.
Detective Constable Michael Higgins said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or anyone who has any information about what happened, to get in touch with us.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone who lives in the area and has CCTV at their address, or anyone who may have been driving by and has a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle.
“We’re following a number of lines of enquiry to locate those responsible. We would encourage anyone with information to come forward and speak to us at the earliest opportunity.”
