The application is for the: "Construction of a 164 metre runway extension at the northern end of the existing runway, associated blast screen to the north of the proposed runway extension, removal of existing bund and the reconfiguration and extension of existing long stay car parking to the east and west of Mitchell Way to provide an additional 600 spaces."
The application says it's subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment.

Writing to constituents at the end of last month, Royston Smith, who is defending his Itchen constituency seat in the general election for the Conservatives, while not expressing his own general view on airport expansion, said:
"The planning application is due to be submitted to Eastleigh Borough Council in early November. This will give us all an opportunity to consider the proposals and, as with any planning application, comments will be invited which would then be considered by the planning authority."
He said the link would be shared by local councillors and in the media, but warned that there is usually only a short period to comment or object.
EBC's website says the consultation period ends on December 23 January 3 [seems to have been updated on EBC site].
Many councillors at today's Southampton City Council debate on airport expansion, called after recieving a petition asking the local authrotiy to oppose expansion, stressed what they saw as the importance of waiting for the full details of any application to be published.
