A planning application has been submitted to vary the approved opening hours of a waterside walkway at Quay 2000 in St Denys.

Hours had been agreed at a council planning meeting in June 2019.
The meeting discussed a proposal for the walkway to remain shut due to anti-social behaviour.
As reported, the council’s planning panel decided that it should be open for public access during the day; opening times, they said, should be the same as those agreed at a development at Ocean Village, which had also reportedly suffered ASB problems. Those were 7am – 9pm April 2 to September 29, and 7am – 6pm September 30 – April 1.
The new application (ref: 20/00138FUL), apparently made “with the agreement of most residents” of Quay 2000, is to change these opening times and “vary the planning obligation set out at The Second Schedule (Waterfront Access) of the Section 106 Agreement dated the 16th November 1998, allowing the Waterfront Access (the walkway) gates to remain locked outside of the following hours: 1st April - 31st October 09:00 - 18:00, 1st November - 31st March 09:00 - 16:00”.
Comment can be made until March 3 via the application.
