Each local planning authority has a duty to produce a local plan, which must present the authority’s vision for the future, and cover a number of key areas including the development of new homes, work spaces, infrastructure and facilities. It also looks at other economic, social and environmental priorities.

It also needs to incorporate feedback from residents, businesses and any other interested parties.

You can find out more, and have your say about Southampton City Vision – the title of the new local plan – from this council webpage.

Updated: The deadline [now?] appears to be May 31 on actual questionnaire, although the intro on SCC's website says April 19 at the time of updating. Our article's been updated to reflect that.
