Bitterne Park School has continued to stay open over the normal Easter holidays for the children of key workers. We have had a steady stream of students coming to us each day and have provided them with a summer camp style provision of activities.
We know that this is having a huge impact on supporting those parents who are key workers by the numbers of thank you cards and treats which have arrived at reception.
Next week, the school continues with the key workers provision in more of a class based format to allow students to complete work set by their teachers.
All other students working from home will be able to access set work via their emails.
Football camp observes social distancing
The school also supported the City Council's provision for the children of key workers across the city over the Easter period by providing the 3G football pitch, sports hall and a couple of classrooms free of charge for the Saints Foundation to run a football camp. This provision is very different to what a usual football camp might look like with all skills and game play practices planned to observe social distancing.
Our Sixth Form building continues to be one of the training centres for South Central Ambulance Service to support the NHS - you can read more about this in a previous piece.
