October Books in Portswood reports that it’s offering free delivery of books in stock, “ethical food & munchies or home & cleaning supplies” to SO17, SO18, SO14 and SO15 postcodes.

The co-operative bookshop says on its website that due to the current lockdown it’s no longer open to passing trade, but “we are offering delivery of food, personal hygiene and household cleaning products”.
“There will be someone at the shop to answer your call on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10 til 4pm or you can leave a message at other times Tel: 023 80581030. Please do leave your phone number so we can call you back to clarify your needs. Many thanks and stay safe The October Books Team.”
The shop is also running various events this month – although for obvious reasons these now have to be online, via Zoom.

An epic tale set in Southampton during the reign of Elizabeth I and based on historic documents held in the local archives. Many of the sites mentioned in the novel still exist and can still be visited - this story is also the story of our city!
