First says there will be closures from April 27 – May 1, 2020 and its City Red 7 service will be diverting “via Oaktree Road (Hop Inn), Woodmill Lane, Witts Hill, Mousehole Lane and into Townhill Way, where it will continue on the normal route toward the City Centre” according to First’s website.

Bluestar says about its service 16 on its website:

“Meggeson Avenue in Townhill Park will be closed on Monday 27th to Friday 1st May and again from Monday 4th to Friday 8th May at the junction with Wakefield Road, which will affect our Bluestar 16.

“Towards Townhill Park, from West End Road, buses will run via Mousehole Lane to Witts Hill. Then run normal route down Woodmill Lane and round onto Forest Hills Drive to the turning circle at Pinefield Road. Buses on the return journey will go back on themselves as above in reverse via Forest Hills Drive, Woodmill Lane, Witts Hill and Mousehole Lane to West End Road and on to Bitterne.

“Unfortunately this means we will be unable to serve stops in both directions at 'Mousehole Lane' on Townhill Way, and 'Townhill Way' and 'Wakefield Road' on Meggeson Avenue, plus 'Meggeson Avenue' and 'Chester Road' on Wakefield Road towards Townhill, and 'Community Centre' and 'The Ark' stops on Meggeson Avenue towards the city.”

Both companies are currently running buses to revised timetables and accepting tickets on each others’ services.
