According to a post on social media by John Savage, a Portswood councillor, the collections will start again on Monday, May 4.

He adds that the council is asking residents “not to overload their recycle boxes. It would be great if people can stagger their backlog of glass over the next few collection periods”.

At the time of writing this information hadn’t been updated on the council’s own website.

The council was contacted for confirmation and comment.

See this subsequent story here for an update on glass and bulky waste collections.
