As reported, glass collections will start again on Monday, May 4.
The bulky waste collection service is also being reinstated, with online bookings open again from May 4, and collections kicking off from May 11.
Southampton City Council (SCC) said the services were suspended on Tuesday 31 March as part of lockdown measures that have been undertaken by local authorities to safeguard staff and residents, and to help prioritise the delivery of services against any issues of staff sickness and self-isolation.
Residents who have stored a large amount of glass items are asked not to overload bins or crates and to stagger the collection of their backlog over a few collection dates. SCC said it's not safe for operatives to collect glass items that are not stored in a bin or crate.

Cabinet member for place and transport, Cllr Jacqui Rayment, said: “We made the difficult decision to suspend these services in order to help limit the transmission of the virus and to ensure we had sufficient staffing cover to continue to deliver essential services.
“We’re now in the position to safely reintroduce the last of the city’s services that were put on hold, and will continue to closely monitor the situation.
“We’re asking residents to continue to wash their hands prior to putting bins or crates out and after bringing them back in. Disinfecting crates and the handles of bins will also help to stop the spread of the virus.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their help and support and for their patience during these difficult times.”
It's also possible to dispose of glass jars and bottles at glass recycling banks, "but only as part of an essential journey", said the council.
