Southampton recycling centre could reopen shortly

recycling centre  GNU Free Documentation LicenseRecycling centres across Hampshire are set to re-open after they were shut to stop the spread of coronavirus, and the Millbrook centre could open from May 11.

Southampton City Councill said the date provisional, "subject to further guidance expected from the government next week".


“The potential re-opening of the Household Waste and Recycling centre in Millbrook will offer residents the chance to safely dispose of waste that may have been stockpiled over the last six weeks, given the lockdown restrictions that have been in place," said Cllr Jacqui Rayment.

 

She added that a reduced service would be offered to ensure safety, and that people should only visit the site if "absolutely necessary".
