Southampton to host first Virtual Jobs Fair

It’s described as a “ground-breaking event” that will “connect recruiting employers with potential candidates in the local area, through the use of webinars and private one to one online discussions”.

It will feature free webinars for attendees to help increase employability skills and “improve wellbeing”.

There will also be the opportunity to virtually meet employers for five-minute one-to-one sessions, enabling attendees to find out more about vacancies and ask questions.

Cabinet member for children and learning, Cllr Darren Paffey, said: “The inaugural event will help job seekers, those currently unemployed, furloughed or being made redundant to engage in a meaningful way with recruiting employers in the Southampton, waterside area and Hythe area.”

Jobseekers need to register on sotonvirtualjobsfair.eventbrite.co.uk to confirm attendance and which employers they want to meet and which webinars they would like to attend.

It will run from 10am-4pm.
