This work is described as “essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the railway in the area”.
It will take place from 1am on Saturday morning (July 25) until the early hours of Monday (July 27).
There will be follow-up works on August 2-3.
A spokesperson apologised for the short notice, and said: “The operatives will be using railway machinery to complete the work, and although we have specifically selected equipment which has been designed to minimise noise, there may be some disturbance to lineside neighbours as a result of the works, for which I apologise in advance.”
Neighbours can contact a 24-hour helpline which is also available at the weekend on 03457 11 41 41, quoting “Railway Improvement Work - Osborne Road, St Denys track work” should they require further information.
