They’ll work with Public Health and Stronger Communities teams.

Creating a network of COVID-19 Community Champions, says the city council, is “a way to help people in Southampton get clear and accurate information, as well as the latest advice and guidance on how to reduce the risk of getting and spreading the infection, and any additional support needed to help achieve this”.

The council says recruits will be provided with the latest information, advice and guidance, through regular briefings and via other channels in order to raise awareness, help people make informed choices, and ultimately help keep people as safe as possible by preventing the spread of infection.
