Consent is sought for a five-year period from mid-November.

The static hoarding would be at 16 High Road, the address of Greenwoods convenience store, which is close to the crossroads linking High Road with Portswood Road, Langhorn Road and Woodmill Lane, next to the social club.

The one public comment to date claims it would have a “high visual impact” on various High Road properties “especially after dark”, and that the crossroads can be a “complicated area to navigate with pedestrians and cars stopping at the shop, exit and entering the Swaythling Working Mens club, a bus stop opposite traffic queueing (sic) at the lights and at peak times many students crossing the road on the way to/from Wessex Lane Halls.”

The application is on the council’s planning portal from this link.
