Portswood: Witness appeal after ‘collision’ between car and blind pedestrian

westridge rd signPolice are appealing for witnesses after what they describe as “a collision between a car and a pedestrian” at the entrance to Westridge Road car park in Portswood.

Police said the pedestrian, a 76-year-old blind woman, was crossing at the car-park at around 7.40 am on Friday (Oct 16) when it happened.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

The woman attended Southampton General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries to her back.

Officers appealed for witnesses and any dash-cam footage that could help.

Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with the reference 44200401677.
