"Kids, young and old" are being encouraged to put up spooky artwork and pictures in front windows as well carve spine tingling pumpkins in time for Halloween.
Anyone can join in by posting pictures of their Spooktacular achievements on the Front Gardens Plus - making St Denys greenerFacebook page before October 31.
Organisers say prizes will be awarded in early November.
‘Front Gardens Plus - making St Denys greener’ is a community group encouraging residents to plant; sow; swap seeds, plants and tools; and get involved in action days to help tackle pollution, green the neighbourhood and help make St Denys a great place to live.
“No particular gardening knowledge is needed but plenty of enthusiasm has been demonstrated by residents getting involved in free bulb days, seed sharing and plant and seed giveaways, summer Sunflower Competition and ‘Adopt an unloved plot’,” the group said in a press release.
“Free seedbombs, wildflower seed packs and sunflower seed packs have also been made and distributed to residents and local organisations. Some of the planned events for residents to get involved in will be a Christmas wreath competition with Christmas-themed art in front windows, and a St Denys in Bloom event.”
