Triangle Christmas lights are reportedly being switched on by Saturday 14 – although, as we noted in September, physical ‘switch-on events’ are off the agenda.

Some lights along Cobden Avenue were already on this weekend (Nov 7/8).
There will also be lights in Bitterne, Portswood, Lordshill, Shirley and Woolston district centres
It’s thought Triangle Christmas lights were displayed for the first time last year at the suggestion of traders at a meeting with Labour politicians in June 2019.
Another, as yet outstanding, agenda item at last year’s meeting was CCTV for the Triangle: traders wanted “CCTV in the area as a deterrent to stop thefts” following a spate of “major break-ins every 4 months”.
As reported, break-ins have sadly continued this year – for example here and here.
