More than 280 Christmas cards hand made by the pupils were delivered to Boathouse homeowners, showing a great display of community spirit.

Each card included good tidings and festive messages from the pupils.

Nicki Beswarick, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, said: "This year it was important for us to get creative and find new ways of bringing the community together, despite the challenges we're all facing.

"The pupils at Bitterne Park Primary School have gone above and beyond to produce some incredible Christmas cards, which have truly brought some Yuletide comfort and festive cheer to homeowners at The Boathouse."

Kelly Chambers, curriculum lead at Bitterne Park Primary School, added: "All of our pupils really enjoyed making and writing their cards. It was certainly a great way to get us all into the Christmas spirit and help to foster relationships between the generations. We'd like to thank all of the homeowners at The Boathouse; the children were absolutely delighted they all enjoyed their cards."

The team at The Boathouse also held a special 'Grand Christmas Draw', offering prizes such as bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates and a candle set. Thanks to generous donations, the team raised a fantastic £215 for CLIC Sargent Southampton.
