World Book Day (March 4) celebrations this year are taking the form of a week-long 'Children's Books Scavenger Hunt' around the neighbourhood.

The day can't be celebrated at Cobbett Hub & Library so this year the Friends of Cobbett Road Library have teamed up with community group Bitterne Park Family Fun to create a local book trail from March 1 - 8.
Anyone can become part of the trail, or join in the hunt.
Becoming part of the trail involves creating a window display involving a character from a children's book, while anyone following the trail can find the characters from a list.
"There will be little rewards for the complete lists and treats for everyone taking part," explains the Friends of Cobbett Road Library website, where there's more information about taking part.
Roberta, a member of the library Friends group, told bitternepark.info: "We have always celebrated World Book Day at the library and this year with Covid-19 and the library temporary closure, we had to stretch our imagination."
Naomi, from Bitterne Park Family Fun, had already promoted a local Lego Challenge trail in the area for half-term and "combining the two seems a great idea to get everyone involved", explained Roberta.
"These are challenging times, but we are very lucky we have a supportive community around us and children can find some joy looking around the for their favourite book in a neighbour's window and have some fun."
