Marlhill Copse plan also on agenda
Southampton City Council is set to decide at a meeting on Tuesday (Feb 23) whether to maintain its opposition to Southampton Airport's plans to extend its runway in the light of further changes to the planning application.

The council has already debated and objected to runway extension plans in January and December.
The planning application, which is again open for public comment following changes until March 5, is lodged with Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC), but Southampton along with other local authorities, is a consultee.
The officer's report to Southampton's Planning and Rights of Way Panel (PROW) meeting recommends that either changes to the application aren't significant enough to "merit revisiting its decision to OBJECT to the application", or the panel decides changes are significant enough to request a time extension from EBC to allow for "a full report for further debate on the application at a future Panel meeting".
The officer's summary of the changes to the application reads:
"This latest round of further consultation is a rationalisation of the revised baseline figures of 1mppa following the collapse of Flybe and capped future growth forecast of 3mppa (36,737 ATMs) by 2033 which are now considered the most likely growth scenario.
These baseline and capped growth figures were within the sensitivity test previously consulted upon and considered by the Planning and Rights of Way Panel on 01 December 2020. Additional economic information is also provided in relation to the baseline and future viability of the airport without the runway extension."
Marlhill Copse
Also up for discussion at the same meeting is consideration of a felling licence application and the airport's 'Woodland Management Plan' for Marlhill Copse.
Full documentation for both items can be downloaded from the respective PROW agenda items on the council's website.
The meeting takes place 'virtually' from 5.30pm on Tuesday 23: the link to the meeting using Microsoft Teams (viewable via the web or via Teams software) is here.
