Bitterne Park Hotel licence revoked

By Maria Zaccaro, Local Democracy Reporter

bitterne park hotel exterior March 2016The Bitterne Park Hotel has had its licence revoked after “in excess of 30 persons” were found drinking at the venue during a Christmas Eve party last year.

The police described the incident as a “blatant disregard” for the coronavirus restrictions and fined the licensees £1,000.

The city was under Tier 2 restrictions at the time, so alcohol had to be served with substantial meals.

But police said no food had been served.

They also said that “nobody was wearing a mask”.

Business owners apologised and said things had “got out of hand”.
