Eastleigh to consider airport’s runway plan this month

eastleigh borough council tackling climate change tight crop 460Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC) has announced its Local Area Committee will consider Southampton Airport's controversial planning application to extend its runway on March 25.

The meeting will be online and "all people who expressed a comment on the proposal" will be "formally notified and invited to attend or make representation to the committee", according to the authority.

The planning application is here and is still open for comments until March 5.

The meeting will start at 10am and be streamed using Microsoft Teams, which generally enables anyone to watch either using Teams software or using a web browser;

"Participants can either speak, provide an audio/video statement or provide a written statement that will be read out on their behalf."

12 noon on Friday, March 19 is the deadline for registering and submitting statements.
