On Wednesday evening (April 21) one resident, who didn't want to be named, said she saw four bikes being ridden through the park during the early evening.
She said: "I was in the park at about 6 o'clock, or half past six, and we were sat in the train grass bit – in the middle [of the railway track], and two bikes came from Woodmill way on the path, and they went all the way down. Really fast. On the actual pedestrian path ... towards the bridge.
"And this guy on the jetty shouted at them. I didn't hear what they said ... And then two more bikes came along. I think they were following the first two but by then they'd already gone up to the Triangle by then, so they turned around and went up River View."
She added that she couldn't see if any of the bikes later went onto the grass, but she heard people shouting.
Writing on our Facebook page, Alan Gibson said: "I saw them coming through woodmill pulling wheelies (I was waiting at the lights), no number plates, just trail bikes."
He said the bikes he saw were "headed up towards Portswood rd".
On Twitter Ian T wrote: "Yup, happening quite a bit recently. Two bikes from the model railway to cobden Bridge and back in amongst a large group doing yoga or similar. #dangerous".
