Roadworks have been announced to start in Manor Farm Road near the Triangle from June 2, and are planned to take 20 weeks - taking us into October. According to Romanse, works are "to allow kerb and footway works to take place".
This is on top of extensive work in the area to replace gas pipes - which has resulted in a bizarre and seemingly ever-changing series of diversions around the St Catherine's Road/Dimond Road/Thorold Road areas.
There will also be temporary traffic lights at the Cobden Ave/Cobbett Road junction, and at the Cobden Avenue/St Catherine's Road junction until August 11.
The right turn from Cobden Avenue into Bullar Road is to be banned. The diversion will be via Cobden Avenue, Cobbett Road, Bullar Road Gyratory & Bitterne Road West. This element of the work is expected to last for 9 weeks.
Meanwhile, over in Portswood, a 32-week project to replace the gas main the length of Portswood Road is underway, which is already causing disruption to road users. Click the link to catch up with the details on our sister site at portswood.info.
