Visitors can enjoy free admission to Southampton’s Museum of Archaeology and Maritime Museum this weeked - July 12/13 - to mark the start of this years' Art Vaults.
To mark the opening of the fourth annual Art Vaults exhibition, art will be on show in the Museum of Archaeology and in King John’s Palace, in Blue Anchor Lane off Western Esplanade.
The work in the Museum of Archaeology by artist Paul Vivian is called Homemade Projections and is one of the ten installations selected for this year’s Art Vaults from submissions by artists from across the region.
In King John’s Palace, Claire Barber’s work Stepping lightly on 88 pillows is on show.
The Museum of Archaeology is in historic God’s House Tower, Winkle Street, and the Maritime Museum is in the equally historic Wool House on Town Quay Road near the ferries.
They are open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday.
