Councillor John Hannides, Cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Heritage, said: “Culture is critical to the city’s economic development, health and wellbeing and to the creation of an attractive image of the city as a place where people want to live, work and play.”
“We want to transform Southampton into a destination where people want to visit, put down roots and get involved with the community.”
“The city has a fantastic opportunity over the next twenty years to create a vibrant cultural heart, a sense of identity and uniqueness that connects people to each other and to Southampton as a place.”
