Denham publicises new cycle path

John Denham MPSouthampton Itchen Labour MP John Denham joined members of Southampton Cycling Campaign on March 7 to publicise the cycle path on one of the City’s busiest roads.

The new path shares the pavements on both sides of Northam Bridge and forms part of a cycle route between the City Centre and Bitterne.

John Denham said: “I am glad that a cycle path has now been installed on this very busy road and I hope it will encourage more people to leave their cars and cycle to and from the City Centre.  Many people may not be aware of its existence as there are no conventional road signs on posts, merely markings on the surface of the path.”
