Thorold fire: police suspect arson

It's believed the fire that swept through a derelict building undergoing refurbishment in Thorold Road was started deliberately.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance tackling the blaze on on April 30, with four pumps, a serial ladder and a specialist equipment vehicle. The fire occurred on second floor of three storey building and caused a partial collapse.

Firefighters were at the scene until around 4pm.

The joint fire and police Arson Investigation Team are now assisting in this case.
