Come along and help celebrate 70 years of our thriving local library on Saturday May 16, with a day of activities and displays.The day kicks off at 9.30am and runs until 4pm. Work will be on display from the array of groups that use the library, and they’ll be a chance to talk to group members about what goes on at the Library.
There will be a local history display, photos and artefacts, an art deco book display (the Library has an art deco interior complete with wood panelling) as well as a local history quiz for adults and activity sheets for children.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and there will also be a lunchtime buffet.
The provisional schedule is:
11am Storytelling and Children’s Activities
1pm Mayor presents Poetry Competition Prizes
1.30pm Finger Buffet and Live Music
2.30pm Tai Chi demonstration
3pm Storytelling
3.30pm Result of Local History Quiz.
4pm Library closes.
