Hampshire County Council has published its response to the Southampton airport masterplan, giving it a "cautious welcome". But HCC has stressed that "the environmental and transport impacts of the proposed
expansion need to be carefully assessed," and has requested "safeguards to protect the local environment, including that there should be more comprehensive information and consultation on the issue of aircraft noise and air pollution." The full report is here.
