You can see preliminary designs for the redevelopment of Guildhall Square, at an event running until Saturday July 25 at the Café in the Square.

The Council says Guildhall Square is set for a dramatic transformation stretching from the entrance of the Guildhall itself, all the way through the former Tyrrell & Green site, linking into to the park on the other side. When the project is complete, Guildhall Square will apparently become a “contemporary space” containing “striking features” at the heart of the City’s new “Cultural Quarter”.

Work is due to commence in August 2009 and take around a year to complete.

The information event will show preliminary plans and artists’ impressions of how this central piece of the emerging cultural quarter will look. It will be held at the Café in the Square, that opens onto Guildhall Square, and will be open between.

Friday 24 July 10am - 6pm
Saturday 25 July 10am - 5pm
