There’s a series of activities in Southampton on Sunday February 14 to mark the Chinese New Year - the year of the tiger. The spectacle starts at 11 am at the Civic Centre, with Southampton’s Mayor performing the ceremony of ‘dim jing’ — a ritual to bring the dragon to life. This is followed by displays, music, dance and, from around 12.30pm, the traditional parade through the City Centre.
