School choir spreads festive cheer

Pupils from Bitterne Park Junior School are brushing up on their favourite seasonal songs to perform during a series of concerts in the community.

On Wednesday December 7, the 25-strong school choir will be performing alongside other children at the annual Music Association Christmas Concert, held at Southampton Guildhall.

Then on Thursday December 13, children will be making two outings, first to entertain members of the Bitterne Park Pensioners Club and then to The Church of the Ascension in Thorold Road.

The choir, led by teachers Kathyrn Bevan-Mackie and Sue Davis have been rehearsing hard for their performances at both the Guildhall and the pensioners' club. They will be joined by young performers from the whole school for the concert at The Church of the Ascension, which is the highlight of the school's Christmas celebrations.

The evening promises to be full of festive cheer as the children entertain parents with music and drama.
