Woodmill next play area to be refurbished?

With work at Cobden Meadows playground now well underway, Friends of Riverside Park say on their website they've applied for a grant of Ł50,000 to refurbish the play area at Woodmill - known to some as 'The Wooden Playground'.

"We are delighted that we have been successful in stage one of the application.

"Stage two involves consultations with the community, so more information and plans will be available to view soon. Your feedback on the current plans will be greatly appreciated," says the group on their site, where they also point out that Riverside Park failed to achieve Green Flag status for the current period, which runs until the end of July 2010.

"We will be working hard with the Council to try and regain Green Flag status for 2010/11," say FORP.
